Real Men Talking

Men listen to other men

“Real Men Talking” is an initiative that encourages men and boys to reflect, talk and step up to be a part of the solution to sexist harassment.

The involvement of everyday men taking a stance against disrespectful behaviours can help end/reduce sexual harassment.

The Council has joined up with a range of real community-minded men to drive this change. Over the coming months, you will see local role models take other men and boys on a learning journey on social media and in real life, through video content, workshops and community engagement.

Use your voice for good and positively influence your mates, brothers, sons, and the guy on the street.

Local role models

Taiwo is a local activist and entrepreneur. After being part of the Community Crime Commission as one of our independent commissioners he volunteered as our first “real man.”

He has a passion for the community and is committed to helping reduce misogyny and violence against women and girls in society.

Taiwo Ademola said: "Men talk to men, and we have a key role in improving attitudes and behaviour from a quiet word to a more in-depth discussion. We're all on a journey to understand and do better. Why would I not stand up and challenge sexist harassment? Why would anyone stay silent on that?.

Nathan is the Chief Executive Officer of Lifeline, a charity that runs various programmes fo

families in need.

Nathan Singleton said: "Bad things happen when good people do nothing. Don't let bad things happen. When you see sexual harassment follow our 3 steps to be an active bystander and make Redbridge safer."
