Commissioner Amy Tully attends women's safety audit walk

Monday 9 August 2021

On Monday 26th July, Redbridge Council held it's first women's safety audit walk. The walks are designed to bring together female residents of all ages and backgrounds to discuss issues in the local area which make them feel unsafe. Joined by senior council officers and cabinet member's, the residents took the council staff to hot spots in the borough, sharing their experiences of the areas and stating changes they wanted to see.

Redbridge community crime commissioner, Amy Tully, attended the walk to share her personal experiences and those of the women surveyed as part of her online street harassment survey, @ilfordstreetharassment.

Below, Amy speaks about the importance of listening to female residents of Redbridge about safety.
